LANGUAGE STEPS

A language resource aimed to develop both comprehension and expression in spoken language. Focusing on early language skills from a One to Four word level, it is based on the Derbyshire Language Scheme principles and provides a photocopiable programme for speech & language therapists, assistants, teachers, nursery nurses and parents to develop the number of information carrying words in an utterance. Vocabulary, basic concepts and grammar have been kept to a minimum.

Seven sections (1WL, 1-2WL, 2WL, 2-3WL, 3WL, 3-4WL and 4WL) each consist of 6 session plans with associated homework activities. The activities can be used for individual or group therapy. A photocopiable score sheet is also provided which can form part of a child’s treatment notes or Individual Education Plan.
Contains clear instructions and over 70 pages of photocopiable picture material.
